plumbing- what is the difference between shower valves, as they range from $50 -$300?
I'm looking to replace a shower valve in the wall before I tile. I will probably get a kohler handle, and when i'm looking at valves, they range from 50-300 dollars.
What could possibly justify the 300 dollar price for a valve?
here are some links between 2 on ebay. could someone tell me the main difference, and where/when the expensive one would be used vs. the cheaper one?

the $60 one is the valve only and no trim plates or handle.
the $300 one is not a shower valve. It is a thermostatic mixing valve the tempers water to a pre set temperature and is designed for commercial applications.
Get a Delta, the are good, reliable, competitively priced and any repair parts that may be needed in the future are readily available
