What is this weird smell coming from my kitchen sink faucet when i turn the water on? Today when i turned on the kitchen sink i got this extremely strong smell up my nostrils. I can really only smell it when i turn the water on. It's almost like a very strong, wine-like smell. It is not a comforting smell though so i would like to know what it is. The drinking water comes from three wells. And I can't really tell if it's the water or coming from the sink. if you have a dishwasher hooked into the drain line- the water going down the main drain will cause the vapor of the dishwasher to be drawn over and the smell to go up
